Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
SpotPick is made by Teo R.Design. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Teo R.Design. We are the controller of the personal data described below.
The short version: SpotPick does not collect your colours, your screen or your images. We have no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The app and this website only handle the small amount of data described here.
The SpotPick app for Windows
Your colours and settings stay on your computer. Your saved colours, folders, settings and licence key are stored only on your device. We never receive your colours or settings.
The eyedropper and screen picking. To show the magnifier and pick a colour, SpotPick reads the pixels around your cursor. This happens only in your computer's memory, only while you are picking. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
Images you open. Images you open in the Image tab are read on your computer to find their colours. They are never uploaded.
Export and import. When you export your library, SpotPick writes a file to the place you choose. When you import, it reads only the file you pick.
Clipboard. SpotPick writes colour values to your clipboard when you copy them. It never reads your clipboard.
Update checks. When SpotPick starts, it checks for a new version by downloading a small file from GitHub, which hosts our updates. Like any website, GitHub receives your IP address and basic technical details such as your browser or app type. We don't send any other information, and we don't receive these details ourselves. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Buying SpotPick
SpotPick is free to download. If you buy SpotPick Pro on Windows, your purchase is handled by Lemon Squeezy, our online reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your payment details, which we never see, and processes them under the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy. It shares your name, email address, country, order details and licence key with us so we can provide your licence, handle refunds and help with support. We keep these records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, usually six years.
Licence checks. When you activate Pro, SpotPick sends your licence key and your computer's name (as set in Windows) to Lemon Squeezy, to confirm the key is valid and count it towards your 3-computer limit. After that, it checks the key again when SpotPick starts, at most once every 3 days. When you deactivate Pro on a computer, SpotPick tells Lemon Squeezy so the slot is freed. Like any web request, these checks also share your IP address. Nothing else is sent.
This policy covers the Windows app. We will update it before the mobile app launches.
This website
No cookies, no analytics. This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our fonts are stored on our own site, so no font service sees your visit.
One small browser setting. Your browser keeps a single flag for the current tab so the intro animation plays only once. It is removed when you close the tab and is never sent to us.
Hosting. This website is hosted by Netlify. Like all web hosts, Netlify keeps short-term server logs that include your IP address, to run and protect the service. See the Netlify Privacy Policy.
If you email us
If you contact us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We keep them for as long as we need to help you, and for no longer than two years.
Where your data is processed
Lemon Squeezy, GitHub and Netlify are based in the United States, so the data they handle may be processed outside the UK. They protect it with safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Our legal basis
We use your purchase details and licence checks to fulfil our contract with you, and keep sales records because the law requires it. We rely on our legitimate interests for the update check, server logs and replying to your emails. In each case the data is small, expected and needed to provide the app, the website and support.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to how we use it, or ask us to limit that use. Email us at hello@spotpick.app. Because the app keeps your data on your own device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling SpotPick.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
SpotPick is suitable for everyone. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes.
